I had this box on my tying desk for years. It contained orphaned hooks, beads and materials. So I decided to tie something unusual. I also had so holographic “rainbow” tinsel. On YouTube I saw a pattern called the Rainbow Perdigon. Viola?

I have been using bleached Australian possum when tying tan caddis emergers for years. Recently my wife trimmed our oldest bernedoodle, Sage. I liked the consistency of her light colored belly hair. Yesterday I took the hair blended it in a coffee grinder and stuck it in a cup of coffee all day in hopes of getting the proper shade. Dried it over night and tied a dozen flies this morning. I like the color and texture resulting in what I consider a very buggy look.
