I have been using bleached Australian possum when tying tan caddis emergers for years. Recently my wife trimmed our oldest bernedoodle, Sage. I liked the consistency of her light colored belly hair. Yesterday I took the hair blended it in a coffee grinder and stuck it in a cup of coffee all day in hopes of getting the proper shade. Dried it over night and tied a dozen flies this morning. I like the color and texture resulting in what I consider a very buggy look.

And, it’s much easier to tie! The hardest part about tying the size 20s is not dropping the tungsten bead while you try to thread it onto the hook. The 16 looks huge compared to the 20s
Don't give up....don't ever give up!!After numerous frustrating attempts, I finally figured out a parachute Adams on a size 16! I know my tails probably a bit long, among other errors, but it still feels like a success to me. This one gave me head, neck, and back aches!View attachment 1641248822
