There is a lot of ambiguity and conflicting statements in those FAQ's and many make NO sense at all like how do you access the stream without accessing if FROM their property?

I guess that means you CAN'T step OUT of the creek if you don't have a permit and isn't the bottom of the stream their property too?? IF I am correct about the getting out of the stream thing, does mean a NON permit angler will have to wade in front of a permit holding angler??

They also STILL mention requiring membership in the Yellow Breeches Anglers (YBA) which could have NOTHING to do with YBA. But doesn't that make access even more restrictive?

Yak it or float it in a tube just to annoy the owners as the fishing is fair to poor most days anyhoo

That’s good, I was concerned where it would go. I would not attend if on Allenberry property.

Being local, I used to recommend Allenberry facilities to many outside the area. No longer.

Under that same "Frequently Asked Questions" section, Allenberry says the permit system applies to only anglers accessing the creek from the Allenberry property. So, in theory, one could park up at Children's Lake, cross the stream, follow the path all the way down to the Allenberry property, and fish it? View attachment 1641250166

No, Allenberry owns the property from the stonebridge on both sides all the way down to the resort. Your would be tresspassing.

Do they own the parking lot by the forge that holds the run out of the lake? I was under the impression that portion was township owned, but I may be mistaken completely.

That is owned by South Middleton Township according to Cumberland County's Property Mapper

The forge parking area IS township owned and so is a short length of property on the Run side of the Yellow Breeches from the Mountain Road Bridge downstream.

Allenberry does NOT own both sides of the creek all the way down from that bridge...

They own ALMOST all of it... 😉

What's going on with the restaurant that was SUPPOSED to open in the barn/apartments building adjacent to the Run??

And are the Rickert's REALLY going to reopen the Tavern WITH lodging like I heard??

The Rickert's have been opening the Deer Lodge, the Tavern and several other restaurants for years, don't hold your breath for any opening anytime soon!

The rebuild on the restaurant by the run seemed like it was moving ahead, but not sure anymore. Not seeing much activity. Could be trying to get a liquor license, permitting or something else.

I just checked; this thread pops up as the first result for a Google search of "Allenberry fishing." And that was on my woman's phone, and she never visits PAFF. It was first on my phone too, though.

Saw a couple people say they couldn't find the part on the Allenberry website in question. It is under the "Frequently Asked questions" portion of the "Fly-Fishing" tab. Allenberry sounds like a disaster. If this reflects their management then it sounds like a terrible operation and likely will fail.

Tim I listen to Orvis fly fishing podcast with Tom Rosenbauer and to be honest Allenberry or what they are trying to become sounds exactly like the lodges and outfitters they promote on the show. I do own a battenkill reel and a Clearwater rod and a few other trinkets but I can’t afford most of the product line orvis has to offer. The clientele that Orvis is targeting are the exact type of people that would pay for a lodge experience and guided private access to water. There is nothing wrong with that if you can afford it and that’s what you like. What makes it a tough pill to swallow is change and traditions. I don’t know what to say about it. I have never fished it and had no interest because I despise regulated water but I mourn the loss for others.
