Gentlemen I just had to show these off. Not tied by me but one of our Tying instructors and vets at the Erie Project Healing Waters group. He has been working with packing some deer hair and I found these to be quite nice.

Very nice looking tie, John.

Here is a variation of the Prince Nymph from Blue Ribbon Flies:

“Too many times when a classic pattern is changed we find it not as good as the original. This is not the case with The Fly Formerly Known As Prince. Adding the mylar flash has produced an incredible fish catcher.”

A very good friend of mine in Montana, who was also an experienced Atlantic salmon fisherman, showed me how he fished large Prince Nymphs for trout much like one would fish for for salmon, with long casts quartering downstream, and letting the fly swing until it was directly below him. He held his rod low to the water, and constantly raised and lowered his rod tip to lift the fly, much like a real insect might do as it was hatching. He and I spent many evenings fishing those large Prince Nymphs that way together, and catching an equal number of large trout.
I was introduced to these before I ever fished a Prince, and it was also out on the Madison. Pat's Rubber Legs on top for the whities and a small FKA Prince underneath for the trouts got it done that trip.

Pats rubber legs is one I never had success with, lol, usually just hooked onto the bottom and break my line, we all have that one that doesn't work that's one of mine,
