Summer doldrums and lack of interest

Are these wild bows, or are these stockie bows? I have a feeling you're going to say stockie....

Only wild fish in the stream. Got the bows and a brown, all wild but small.

Additional context: There are a number of small streams with wild rainbows along the NY/VT border and in the Greens. There are occasionally some big fish, but the little rainbows are about as discerning as dumb brookies.

Not exactly like catching two Delaware rainbows...

I hit a small stream this morning that I've never fished in summer before: 60 degrees! For the first time ever, I popped two (small) fish on the dry and the dropper. Double rainbow.

Unfortunately, no double bagger photo, as the hopper fish popped off as I was trying to get them both in the net. Pretty fun, though!

Only a high of 80 today... Trending in the right direction.

There's one particular wild brown trout stream in the Poconos that I've fished more than 40 times over the span of 22 years. Every trip was in either June, July, or August. Not one single time did I ever get a stream temp above 62F, not once.

It's still an awesome thing catching wild rainbows in Pa, regardless of size or brain capacity.

Beetlespin fished in any warmwater river for anything that bites. They work quite well in the “N Br Susquehanna” almost anywhere, lower Susquehanna in the free flowing portion, Juniata near Mifflintown, Schuylkill R in the Reading area…upstream and downstream, Delaware R in Upper Bucks Co, and most warmwater streams. I’ve hooked or caught Muskellunge, walleye, fallfish, SMB, RBSF and RB on even the smallest ones sold…those with a plain grub rather than the larger split tailed versions. Great all around lure that will boost your enthusiasm and that of your kids, plus it won’t break the bank. The bright green grub version seems to work best.
