Restoration project: South Bend Model 3150 8'6" Fiberglass Fly Rod

If you haven't glued the cap back on the rod, I have a feeling a second electroplating and polishing WITHOUT the 2000 grit sandpaper step just using a high quality ammonia free polish like Wright's and/or polishing with a Dremel and rouge would yield VERY shiny results.

As promised, an update. Saturday I took the time for a little "science experiment," after watching the Youtube video helpfully posted above by @Bamboozle. I bought some nickel from amazon, and also a USB to alligator clip assembly. I used an old spaghetti jar and some vinegar plus salt we had in the house to make the nickel electroplating solution, then proceeded to clean them with brake cleaner and suspend them one at a time in the solution. The process pics are here.
Very cool.
