Looks like they stocked Browns in Honey Creek twice this year, so he probably moved down the stream at some point.

Do they not stock Browns in the Kish to protect the wild Brown population?

Unless those browns went underground and re-emerged from Alexander Caverns, that doesn't explain much. Those browns would be stocked way upstream. That part of Honey Creek is practically a whole different stream.

Just to clarify, this is IMPOSSIBLE. There is no "under ground tunnel." The streams sink, leaving behind a dry stream bed. The trout can't go into the underground stream and swim through the dirt and the rocks. As far as fish are concerned, the stream ends.

How does stocking browns help to protect the wild brown population? Are you implying they are relying on stocked browns successfully spawning to supplement the wild browns? I don't think the present wild fish population needs help from stockies...

I have not, Troutbert, that doesn't mean they aren't there. Maybe I'll have to make it down and fish a night this week and see if I can find them.

Sorry I don't think I was clear, I was asking if they are avoiding stocking brown trout in the Kish to protect the wild browns that are currently in the creek.

I agree that they don't need to stock anything on top of the browns at that creek.

Having caught 1000s of state stocked browns that all looked the same, the stocked fish in this thread appears to be a bit “better” looking and potentially a club/privately stocked fish.

I don't know how Coffee Run is managed but it seems to me that could be the source.

They have switched to all bows on the lower bald eagle, IDK, I think 8 years now, maybe more. I think the initial was to get a "clean" survey before designating it as wild trout. A couple of years later they changed the regs. First no harvest of any fish after Labor Day. Two years ago they added no-kill for browns. I think the same regs are on Kish. PFBC is moving in the right direction.
