Dear redietz,I wish Eastern fly shops were still as he described, but unfortunately, they're all yuppified now.
Locally, the only fly shop that isn't overly yuppified is TCO. Good guys working there too.I wish Eastern fly shops were still as he described, but unfortunately, they're all yuppified now.
I think the Kettle Creek Fly Shop was the inspiration for this video's reference. 🙂Dear redietz,
And corporate, you can't forget the most important part! 😉
The odd thing about Eastern fly shops is that my brother who has lived in CO for 40 years really likes Precision Fly Shop in Mt. Holly Springs. He visits them twice a year when he comes East and orders stuff from them all year long that he could easily pick up locally, if the CO shops stocked it.
Regards,
Tim Murphy 🙂
As long as he doesn’t burn my steelhead spot between the Aldi and the Giant Eagle…Damn it! I thought I was the only one who knew about the creek with fallfish behind the Sheetz.
There's also a creek behind BassPro in Paxton, complete with a "five senses garden."Damn it! I thought I was the only one who knew about the creek with fallfish behind the Sheetz.
Nearly 30 years ago I was the cops reporter at The Patriot. Spent a lot of time in Hall Manor, that part of the city, and DCP, and not once did it ever occur to me that that creek would hold browns. Even covered flooding on it farther upstream in Paxtang…There's also a creek behind BassPro in Paxton, complete with a "five senses garden."
I can't recall who, but someone on these pages wrote about fishing between the 5 Senses Garden and 19th Street - Only in the mornings before the sketchy crowd got out of bed.Nearly 30 years ago I was the cops reporter at The Patriot. A solid strategy. I spent most of my career covering murders and mayhem, and I’m pretty comfortable in rougher neighborhoods. I totally would have fished it, but didn’t find out it held fish until I was long gone from central PA. Still kind of want to, just for old time’s sake, but if I’m gonna drive 7 hours for fish, it ain’t gonna be to Hall Manor…🤣I can't recall who, but someone on these pages wrote about fishing between the 5 Senses Garden and 19th Street - Only in the mornings before the sketchy crowd got out of bed.
