Big lackawana browns

I've seen a suggestion to fish the west branch. I would love to be able to fish that river some time. I do strongly dislike the idea of being around a bunch of anglers when I'm trying to have some peace. How is it this time of year by Hancock or by the main stem? I've considered Labor Day weekend.

The WB stays cool all summer. Main stem can get warm.

I wouldn't worry about crowds this time of year.
Even in fall, when I usually take a last fling for the year, it shouldn't be crowded

The fire on this thread appeared to be burning out, so here's another log to keep it going...🔥🤣 Some recent handiwork from everyone's favorite YT vlogger!

My son sent this to me today, I was more annoyed at this guy and the stupid **** he would say over and over and over again, then I am of this dude fishing over fish that should be given a break in the summer.

Caught this guy this morning, gotta love the lack!

After a middling morning session on the Pohopoco, I decided to finally head up to the Lackawanna. I've lived in Philly for 7 years and somehow never made it up there. So glad I went! Beautiful river, with so much character. Riffles, pools, runs, pocket water. Everything! The variety of the habitat was incredible, and so were the surroundings, at least in the Archbald area. I definitely didn't have the feeling of being in an environmentally degraded area. Things changed a bit down in the Trophy Area, where the urban vibes were a little stronger. But still: amazing day, especially since this type of water is so different from the streams of south-eastern PA. I got a few wild browns high sticking nymphs, plus a couple on a dry in the one pool I found fish (sporadically) rising. Lost a nice fish on a nymph by the trophy trout area, it broke off while taking shelter under a log and there wasn't much I could do.
