Basement attractions

I’ve made them but never went down the flavoring rabbit hole. Corn flakes, cream corn eggs and flour was about it. Make enough where you can bait your hole a few days before fishing. Perhaps it’s the picture but that’s a huge boilie. I would make them smaller.

It's the pic its really not that big. Instead of chumming the day before, I used a slingshot that day to get some out with some extra corn.

Does anyone remember "Incredible Edibles?" They were sort of Creepy Crawlers made with gummy worm material that you could eat.

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂
yes Tim --- I do remember those .... i think during Halloween they also had some really gruesome bugs and insects that you could eat. I also remember --- and this is a very long time ago as a kid --- there was this machine behind glass --- you put a quarter in it ... maybe 50 cents, and it would PLASTIC INJECTION MOLD a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a Triceratops right in front of your eyes!! The mold would open, kick the dinosaur into a shoot and it would drop down into a door like a bottle of Coke ----- it was still HOT when you grabbed it --- had to trim off the edges of the plastic. It was like MAGIC!

Bravo to those plastic lures --- a glitter pumpkin on a Whacky rig would be killer.

I had a "Strange Change" Machine...

Somehow miraculously; despite growing up with wood burning sets, EZ-Bake Ovens, Creepy Crawlers, Strange Change Machines, and a Viewmaster projector that plugged in the wall...

I never got burned or electrocuted. 😎
I don’t believe you. Please post pictures of your fingers, top and bottoms.

Boilies.

Never new what this was, then watched some shows and this is what they made for carp fishing. So decided to try it. Made some up in some different stuff with no luck. Then watched some more shows. Watched them make some and they went all out with sugar and some spices. So figured I’d give it a try again.

I am fascinated with coarse fishing like is done in the UK, ESPECIALLY the specialized gear & gadgets. Several years back it was very easy & cheap to get some of the stuff I use and to make up my own specialized fishing chair.

Today it is a royal (pardon the pun) PIA to get things or the freight is ridiculous.

If you are unfamiliar with Big Carp Tackle here in the States, take a look. They offer lots of bait options and some of the cool gadgetry associated with coarse fishing in the UK.

There are also a lot of cool videos & products to peruse on the UK manufacturer websites like Korum, Preston Innovations, Drennan and Fox.

when watching the show they would pull out a lot of tools and special gadgets like there rod setups. Bait bombs and all. Was neat on how they would set up.

Mine a little different but I got 2 automatic rod holders and one on an electronic ring. Very easy set up and don’t really have to pay attention to it until it goes off.

Thanks will take a look at it.

The recipe that caught the big cat. Was strawberry jello + sugar+ mini frosted wheats +egg +black molasses +corn + flour.

When I started I did that and started making a bunch that all they did was lay around so I started selling some and giving some away. The rest is getting melted back down and now going to my Muskie lures.
Flies I also have a lot laying around from when I started.

Now I do one or 2 flies or plastic to try so I don’t build up to many that I’m not going to use for if they don’t work. Plus now my color assortment has change to more natural colors.

Yes that’s one of the big Bertha they went 4, 6, 8, and 10 inch. Heard the new craze was in for Muskie so thought I’d give it a try.
Those Big Berthas would also work trolled in saltwater....

Or if you did some in uv/ glow, they'd work deep for halibut, burbot, lingcod, etc.

When I could get stuff from the UK easily and balked at the price of a proper UK style fishing chair, I latched onto the Korum "Any Chair" stuff that allows you to attach their accessories to any folding chair you have with round or square legs.

It took some finagling and modification, but on my L.L. Bean camp chair that I use when fishing I can attach a side tray, an umbrella (or "brolly" as the Brits call it), and a single or double rod holder. I have yet to go down the bite alarm road, but I also don't do a lot of fishing where it's needed.

A couple of years back I went with a the Meiho Bucket Mouth Tackle Box and a bunch of add on accessories like rod holders, cup holders, bait boxes, a tray and other exterior storage. I also fabricated a removable ripple foam patch and have my cigar lighter & Swiss Army knife attached to the exterior of the box for easy access.

It is the nicest, most practical tackle box I ever seen or used in my life.

Another thing that I found interesting with the UK guys was how they use the line clip on their spinning reel spools to clip the line at a certain distance so they cast the same distance to the same spot every time; with that spot being where they placed their feeders.

Was looking into those sites boy more stuff I don’t need haha. Seems like they got everything. Was looking at how many bait feeders. Also some bait selections.

I see some those clips looks interesting.
