Another something different other than tying flies I’ve gotten into. The eggs I did tie with was great for egg patterns. Anyone else into plastic making. Got a new mold in.

They look nice, the crayfish and the madtom would be great Ned rigged on the Susquehanna and Juniata. The tubes look great too. Make sure you mix up some tubes in "blurple" metalflake, they are killer!

I used to frequent a bait & tackle shop on Eberhardt Road (I think) in Allentown that had an unbelievable selection of lures & tackle directed towards bass anglers. Among other unique stuff, he was a dealer for Case Plastics soft plastic lures.

I had the owner order me up LOT of the Case madtoms & hellgrammites...

I can attest that soft plastic madtoms & hellgrammites work in the Susquehanna!!

I had a "Strange Change" Machine...

Somehow miraculously; despite growing up with wood burning sets, EZ-Bake Ovens, Creepy Crawlers, Strange Change Machines, and a Viewmaster projector that plugged in the wall...

I never got burned or electrocuted. 😎

Despite being a boy, I enjoyed "cooking" with a female friend's EZ- Bake Oven. We can't forget the old Etch A Sketch (Ohio Art Company), it was a childhood staple.

Number 1 on the list of the foulest tasting things you could make with toys that a kid had to plug in to a 110 VAC receptacle!!

#2 - Pretzels made with a "Pretzel-Jetzel" machine​

The BEST thing you could make, albeit with a toy that couldn't electrocute you was a Sno-Cone made with a hand cranked Frosty Sno-Man Sno-Cone Machine.

You popped ice cubes in this puppy and cranked your a$$ off to try and make a dinky version of a Koebel's favorite before the ice melted... 😆

When I was a kid, we had a church about a block away that had regular "rummage sales." My brother & I would buy used old toys like these for next to nothing and play with them until we used up the "supplies" or or mom yelled at us for blowing fuses...

I almost started pouring plastic before I stopped myself. All I need is a thousand rubber baits laying around that I’m not going to use to go with the thousand flies I’ve tied that may never get fished.

Those are some massive tubes, and two color. Are they Big Bertha molds?

When I started I did that and started making a bunch that all they did was lay around so I started selling some and giving some away. The rest is getting melted back down and now going to my Muskie lures.
Flies I also have a lot laying around from when I started.

Now I do one or 2 flies or plastic to try so I don’t build up to many that I’m not going to use for if they don’t work. Plus now my color assortment has change to more natural colors.

Yes that’s one of the big Bertha they went 4, 6, 8, and 10 inch. Heard the new craze was in for Muskie so thought I’d give it a try.

Tim,
In addition to the Incredible Edibles, we had Fright Factory. I was burned several times on those hot plates. I believe my sisters had a similar model that produced flowers.

The top one is missing its head. I like pouring lead and ultra minnows myself. Yours look way better than mine. I’m guessing you’re using purer lead than what I use which is what ever I can get my hands on for free. In over 40 years of pouring my own lead I’ve never once bought an ounce of lead and I pretty much have a lifetime supply. It’s really paying for itself now that a bucktail is going for 6 bucks and up.

Question, are those big Bertha tubes hollow like a regular tube? If so, How are they rigged?

I used bismuth. Wasn’t sure about lead pouring as I hear a lot of bad about it but might get into it eventually as bismuth is pretty pricey. Just started that this summer as I bought some big jigs when I was at ocean last year. Was like $7 for one so I tried to make it a little cheaper for myself. Got that one mold and that’s it.

Yes. They are hollow just like regular tubes. I got the 8 inch one so the jigs I poured slide right up and just push the eye of the hook threw. But I’m sure you can find some big tube weights that might work. As of right now since it’s all new I’m sure I’ll be playing around with it till I get it to where I want it Also was thinking running leader thru top then some big egg weights in middle tube then run leader out and tie to a big treble in back.
