Awesome pics! They're all NICE natives. I've never seen a big native sitting exposed like those are.

Yup ..I caught him quickly after I plopped a Japanese Beetle behind him. Pic attached 😁

This one is lake side. My girlfriend and I went for a drive to try and get a glimpse of the northern lights during a solar storm last October. The photograph is more vibrant due to the camera shutter speed, but we were still both able to cross it off our bucket list.

When we stopped along the Yellowstone River for lunch these guys had heard about SNAP. They thought it was the Streamside Nutritional Assistance Program. 😀

I always wanted work this stretch of stream and finally got the opportunity a couple of months ago. After catching a bunch of creek chubs, I was pleased to get a couple of my real target.

I will deal with the snakes but not the spiders! Nope no way, squish of the boat immediately

For 18 summers this was our backyard view on the Yellowstone River.

This was a side channel 4 miles up the river.

So, a little different take here. This is McCloud Run, Iowa's 'urban trout stream'. It is a spring creek with heavy limestone influence that runs cold year round. Could possibly make a weak case that it is the 'southermost driftless trout stream. Trout in it, there are. It runs right through Cedar Rapids. Looking south there, 29th st crosses it. On the left bank, the Canadian National railway runs north to south. On the right bank, several hundred feet from a jogging/bike trail is I-380. Fragile to say the least. But, for all intents and purposes, my home waters. 5 min from my office, 15 min from home, 5 min from the middle school my oldest daughter and youngest son attend. I took this pic this morning, fitting some fishing in while my son and daughter were at show choir practice

Encountered 2 young Amish fellas on French Creek this summer. They had lashed large plastic containers to each side to stabilize the canoe. Great idea! This was at the takeout. We had wondered how they got the canoe to and from the creek.
PS I’m really enjoying all these streamside pix. Great idea for a thread!
