Picked up a vintage Shakespeare fibergalss rod in Brimfield Mass. Antique show. Looking for a vintage cardboard tube to keep it in. Must be 48". Preferably a Shakespeare tube but not necessary

(BTW if you are into vintage "stuff" this is the place. 3 days is about right to see everything)

You could try flea bay, and since they changed their policies I refuse to shop there.

On another note you could try some local or out of town sport/fishing shops for vintage rod tube.

I recently went looking for a rod tube (modern) and was staggered by the prices I came across.

If period correctness matters; are you sure your particular rod came in a cardboard tube?

Because not all Shakespeare rods came that way.

What is the model number and does it have a date code?

I have a nice heavy ribbed aluminum tube with cap marked for a Model 1290 7'9" fly rod. It is about 49". Send me a message if interested.

Thanks for all your replies. Sorry for the untimely response as i was on the road and not really able to spend much time on the phone. Anyway to my knowledge based on marking, it shows this rod to be mfg'd April of 1968 and would throw a 6/7 level line. Here are some pics as it seems to be in great shape with little use
