What's your favorite Penns Creek rod?

I have used an 8'6" 4 weight there on occasion.
Late summer and fall, when the water is at its lowest point of the year (usually}

But the fish are so spooky under those circumstances, that being able to make longer casts with the heavier rod, outweighs any advantage gained by using a lighter rod - from my experience.
But I'm just fishing dries on the big slow pools

On my penns trip this past may i used my 9’ 5wt st. Croix legend ultra. Ill be heading back up in a few weeks and plan on giving my 6wt a try just to see how it is for hitting the far bank and streamers. generally i think a 9’ 5wt is good, my 5wt doesn’t fish streamers as well as id like though and could be a touch faster.

Hopefully get into some iso’s and october caddis.

Specifically thinking about the month of May when flies can range from 16/18 up to the big drakes and coffin flies? Also dry/droppers are in play. There is usually some higher water so I find my back to the bank a lot with not much room for back casts and the fish are invariably rising on the far bank.

One rod only please - length and line weight too.

I would either use my 11' Hardy DeLuxe 7/8wt or my J Kennedy Fisher 9' 7/8/9wt.

Either way i have a cannon and they can roll cast a country mile.

I would use a 9ft 5wt. Something on the med side of med fast. I would use the same rod on a river like the Beaverkill. You dont need a big water fast action rod that many use on big water like the Delaware.
