Drove by a class A stream I fish quite often today,and decided to stop and check the water temp just for the fun of it,and after a few steps I ran right into this.
What is this on a class A?

With your limited details, it’s hard to say. A stream name would greatly add clarity. At any rate, I’ll take a guess that that the entire stream isn’t Class A and that it also has a non-Class A, stocked section and that’s where you saw the sign.

Ok nevermind I was doing my research tonight and it does not list that stream as class a,I’m pretty sure it used to be.Its Long Run in Tioga county.Hard to believe its not on the class a list.
There are very strong restrictions on removing a stream from the Class A list, even for streams that warrant it from a biomass perspective. Given that, it would be improbable although not impossible that it was removed.

Guess I was just sadly mistaken,maybe I always assumed it was class a because there are a lot of lesser streams out here that are considered class a,that sign was just kind of a heartbreaker when I ran into it today.Theres a stream with the same name that is on the class a list in the neighboring county,I could have had my counties mixed up too I guess while looking at the list of streams.This stream definitely does not lack trout.I really don’t understand why they would want to stock it to begin with,it’s an excellent brook trout stream.
Even for those of you who have seen these signs on actual class A trout waters (baring the exemption signs which are on 9 or so of our Class A waters), I'm guessing you saw them posted on stream sections that aren't class A, but other parts of that stream are Class A. They'll gladly stock above and/or below Class A sections on a stream.

Long Run in Tioga County has been a stocked trout stream for at least the past 40 years. Caught lots of stocked brookies in that stream back in the day when I was a member of a hunting club up in Gaines.

Well, I never said that, but typically they stock rainbows now, and the wild fish would be brooks or browns. There are some streams with wild browns that still get browns stocked, but I guess it's not too big of a concern.

I'm more worried about getting in trouble at certain times of the year, if fishing near such boundaries.
As for the cross breeding? Not much you can do there in those situations. Sorta like when your son or daughter brings their significant other over for supper, you don't get to decide on who they pick.

Long Run and it's few tribs all have wild trout, brooks and browns.

There are at least three "Long Runs" in Tioga County, but I assume you mean the Long Run that dumps into Pine Creek which is stocked in the lower section (02).
That stream plus the other two are on the Natural Reproduction List and have been going back to 2005 on my collection of old Natural Reproduction Lists.
However NONE of the three are on Class A Lists going back to 2005 on old Class A lists in my collection.
FWIW - Section 01 of Long Run (mouth at Babb Creek) is a Wilderness Stream. Long Run (mouth at Bellman Run) is tributary to Bellman Run that IS Class A.
Neither of these Long Runs are stocked by the PFBC.
