A great old fly I use all the time. Well done.

Step by step? Thread base, tie in tailing, tie down foam in rear, dub shank, tie down foam in front, underwing/wing, fold back foam, dubbing/add rubber legs/poly? Looks like ol’ reliable is roughly the same? The part I circled is throwing me off. Doesn’t look visible in the second picture (I’m sure is due to camera angle or such)

Is that tailing/shuck? Or just the underwing/camera angle trick my brain thingy?

There is just a crystal flash (in this case black) tail under the foam. Otherwise, you've got it:

1) thread base and flash tail
2) tie down rear foam
3) peacock herl body (kapok for the white one)
4) tie down front foam (I believe there is a middle tie down in the OG pattern to create 3 body segments. I do it sometimes.)
5) flash underwing (matching the tail) and hair wing
6) tie back the head
7) legs, poly sighter, dubbing

Edit: Huh. I just watched a couple videos out of curiosity, and it appears that at some point I added the flash tail and underwing to the original recipe. Must've been in my cups, but I've been doing it that way for years.
