Took a ride over the weekend to look over Upper Pine Creek and stopped at the area right below the bridge in Watrous. The road to the creek has metal posts on both sides of the roads every 8-10 feet, and the parking area has been made considerably smaller. For years the property directly downstream was posted, but it was opened up a few years ago when a new owner bought it and turned the barn into an event space. Is the property still open to fishing? With the smaller parking area, and fence posts and gates, I didn't bother to walk downstream. There aren't any no trespassing signs, but I get the impression things have changed here again with the limited space near the water.

My son just got married along the creek at the venue Saturday. We believe the venue owner is going to use the grass as parking for larger events. The gravel road and turn around (the beach) appears to be Tioga State Forrest. There was no mention of the land downstream being posted in the future, but who knows? We always met there as guys arrived at Pine before going to where we were staying, but never really put much effort into fishing right at Watrous.

BTW, while taking wedding party pictures, my son saw a single trout rising to dries. He had a buddy run up to his truck for his ever present spinning rod and caught the little rainbow on his third cast. We’ve always called his the trout whisperer!

I drove down there on a Saturday in the Spring. There was an event going, wedding I think. The property owners were nice and told us where we could park to stay out of the way. Give them credit, but we still didn’t feel right about it and we didn’t want to be intruding on someone’s big day, so we drove downstream a couple miles to fish for the evening. Nice thing about Pine, generally, very good access and plenty of places to fish.
