State College: 4 days to fish?

If you had 4 days to fish and were staying in state college this coming October, how would you divide up your days and where?

Mostly interested in euro nymphing and streamers, and would love to have a shot at some some bigger fish. Have previously fished Penn's (above cherry run), LJ (above babe rd), and Spring Creek (above mccoy dam lot), but that's pretty much the extent of my experience in the area.

I will probably spend at least a half day at Poe Paddy and LJ Gorge areas, but am not sure how else to allocate my time, whether trying different rivers all together or just different areas on Penn's and LJ.

Would be interested and appreciate your thoughts!

I would probably spend 2 days on Penns, 1.5 on Spring and .5 on Kish (or equivalent).

There is a lot of water to explore on the Penns and Spring.

Dear Encoded,

If we get some modest rain, think about BFC. It drains a smaller area and clears much faster than Penns and has bigger than average fish in it if you know where to look. If we get a big dose of rain you will have to figure out where to go. It stays like now, hit 'em all and follow the immortal Johnny Cash and tell people you've been everywhere, man! 😉

when in oct? I could not give you a good answer without knowing the water levels at the time. Levels are great this fall so far and trout will probably get into the "fall mode" earlier this year. As you can see, I live in the area and the #1 determinant in deciding where to fish is the water levels. I recommend asking again 2-3 days out from your trip.

We'll be out there the week of Columbus day. Definitely recognize that conditions will ultimately dictate everything a day or two beforehand. Just trying to have a rough gameplan under the assumption that conditions across the board will be favorable. If the conditions on Penn's and Little Juniata aren't favorable, we'll obviously have to audible to somewhere else.
