Hi all,
Walked along Spring Creek this afternoon starting at Benner springs. Only saw midges in the air and water was low and clear, obviously.
We ran into a WCO or game warden, not sure. Wife was wearing a bright yellow vest (like construction workers). She told us that orange is req'ed along Spring Creek in the canyon because technically that is part of the gamelands. This was a surprise to me. I even told my wife, the gamelands are above the canyon, we were good. One of us still wears the bright yellow vest there anyway during hunting season. So, walking along SC in the canyon, the orange requirement applies.

She was cool about it and educated other people walking on the path along SC that had no bright colors. She was very nice and was there to help people.

Lots going on in that area, for sure. There appears to be a "buffer" along the creek, but not much.

It appears there is a "buffer" of land along much of the creek that isn't technically on SGL, but for all intents and purposes, it appears that a good chunk of the canyon is on SGL.

yeah, I thought that was the case. Is it a bad thing to be extra cautious? She was very nice and cool about it- my experience with every WCO I have come across

I have been fishing in the section not too far down from the upper parking lot and had someone shoot so close up on the hill above me that it made me leave, and I'm not the type to get startled by gunfire.
