    • Cloud: A provider, such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure, operates large data centers and offers services over the internet.
    • Hyperscale: Extremely large data centers with at least 5,000 servers, often built and operated by major tech companies.

There are industrial sights all over with warehouses and factories failing down in abandoned state. We have thousands of new acres of warehouses and parking lots to put solar over....

Data centers are even worse, especially with how hard they are being pushed by the governors office for expedited permit approvals.

Some of these situations are major failures of zoning and land use planning that will impact generations to come and our natural resources.

Since you mentioned data centers, there is an interesting little article in the Chesapeke Bay Journal, October 2025 issue, about data centers in PA. A group called Team Pennsylvania is pushing the State to fast-track permitting for these data centers. Take a guess who is a co- chair of this politically connected organization. None other than Gov Josh Shapiro. It also goes into some of the back door things they are trying to push thru to "streamline" the process to approve these centers. These bills are backed by Shapiro.

There might be more pressure from Pa executive staff to approve data centers now than there was to permit natural gas development in 2008.

I haven't found any news online but have heard from a very reliable source that there was an environmental accident at the site. This became noticeable as Smith Run had a milky white color to it. My reliable source said PFBC investigated and passed along their findings to DEP for further investigation.
Would like to know more about it or would like to have a source article to share but at this time I can't find anything.

Not sure I agree. two guys in my neighborhood use solar to charge their electric car (the way to do it) and power the house (although gas furnace) and rarely use the grid backup. I was surprised their panels work as well as they do in central PA
 
If I was a young and building a new home I would consider solar on the roof top ,I'm sure it's better than it was 35 yrs ago when I built

In my experience..it never gets enough sun to fully charge panels..looks ugly and doesnt belong on the landscape like those long long rows of panenls on those solar farms...i dont think they give back enough power for the cost...like the windmills...maybe they will get better and im all for that but rite now they cant keep up with the demand....if everything depended on solar power. Say. No gas electric oil nuclear etc....would solar be enough ..

No one saying get rid of everything else. Use them all. If you get rid of any of them, you have one less resource and option. Is your 401K all on one fun
