As suggested by Tom I like the what I see with these images from Troutnut.

There are some body color variations based on locations, but I like leaning in with some greener body flies in my box. Trailing shuck brown and green are always a home run for me.

Dear Skook,

Pupa - Kelly Green rabbit fur dubbed body, imitation wood duck beard, peacock herl head.

For anything before they actually fly, a Leadwing Coachman is the fly to swing. If you want an emerging version, substitute the duck quill wing for dark gray Z-lon and it will sort of float or at least stay near the surface.

For the dry-any EHC will work, they ain't that discerning as long as it's the right size a tan EHC works fine.

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

the Mustad 37160 Caddis hook was on the market when Gary introduced his patterns - he made many observations while scuba diving and didn’t use them - my money is on the straight(er) shanked hooks like the old Mustad 9671 or even the slightly curved 3906 and 3906B were favored in his patterns
