Recent Rain

Ill spare the weather geek speak for another crowd but modeling guidance seems to be in agreement that potential exists for PA to receive above average rainfall over the next week or so. We will see how they verify.
As I watched the Harrisburg local CBS news this morning while enjoying coffee, Steve Knight seemed to say that we have the potential for up to 3.5" of rain between now and Sunday night. That would be very beneficial.

Depends on how that comes, but yeah that would be good

If I can properly decipher the hieroglyphs Soth Jersey remains in the desert.
Not necessarily. Those maps are for time period up until next Friday morning. While the guidance is in fairly good agreement as to the big picture the devil is in the details. Small changes in the big picture could make big difference locally. Things I would be watching over the next few days is where and how strong high pressure over Atlantic will be and where the low sets up. And its May so diurnal instability will factor in to rainfall .

I planned to make the trek to central PA on Sunday for a little two day trip. Because of this, it will rain...most likely a lot... glad I could do my part.

a couple of streams near me need this rain really badly... last time I was at falling spring it was so low below the meadow that the bottom was exposed in some areas. Although I've heard there's other issues at play than just a dry spell

Do we think Penns will be blown next weekend (5/10)? Was planning to camp at Poe Paddy.
If we only get three inches spaced out by three days, then no, I do not think Penns will be blown out next weekend. It will definitely be higher and probably have some color, though.

No. In fact I will be at Poe Paddy Monday-Wednesday. I think it will be helpful. Especially for the small streams. I will save you a few!

Penns headed for 900. Good for long haul but nor for this week. Still looking like 2 inches. Philly looks downgraded which is good. Headed to Phils on Saturday and the Broad Street Run on Sunday. Unfortunately that corner of the state needs it.

We will hammer Panther Run, Swift, and Little Poe and drink some bourbon.

She's already down to 700. Unfortunately, looks like another 2+ possible. I think the lure of trying to catch a few in the tribs is not enough to endure a soggy camping trip.
A bunch of us planted trees and shrubs on upper Hammer on Tuesday. I really hope they are OK. We got brief downpour in Hershey last evening, but the rain has had trouble making it east.
