Recent Rain

I wish they would stop with the 7 or 10 day forecast and try to get the next days forecast right first.

Yes! I'll only trust a 24 hour forcast anymore. The most advanced tech at our disposal, and the weather is still as unpredictable as it's ever been.

Everything is high and brown. It has killed the cicada action as far as I can tell. Time to fish streamers. The bump, if not bite, was on tonight. I had so many grab at my fly but only caught one, which was the only one I hooked. They wanted to play with it but not latch on.

I was in search of fishable water, in hopes of finding cicada eating fish yesterday. Instead I fished streamers, and nymphs, and some mayflies. I saw one or two cicadas on the water, but no fish rising to them. When you get the gift of perfect streamer water - you take it. The first half of this week is setup to be amazing streamer fishing.

I went out this morning with the streamer mentality. The wild number of hits with a single hookup that I had last night didn't not repeat itself. I only had four takes and landed all of them.

After that, I prospected with a cicada. I'll post those results in the cicada thread. The short of it is that I wouldn't fully commit to streamers even if you don't see any cicadas on the water or any risers.
