Recent Rain

Often time you just have to fish regardless of the conditions.
You have to change and figure it out the fish are there and they have to eat so why not change it up.
A day fishing is much better than a day working even if you don't catch anything.
The sport is called fishing not catching.

Drowning would be my main concern with fishing Penns (or the other big, popular Central PA streams) right now. Other than Spring. I’d rather work than risk that. And I’d probably rather work than burn a day off to fish Spring.

But yeah, agree generally in principle. Kids have definitely lowered my standards as to what kind of conditions I’ll fish in. Basically anything when my wife says I can go is fine with me now. I’d find a place to fish in these conditions too, but Penns/BFC/LJR/etc won’t be options for me until they get down to more manageable flows. YMMV, and your tolerances for safe wading too, and that’s fine too.

I’ve never fished penns, I have heard it gets extremely warm super fast so that’s a big concern in early June for me. Does penns really stay high for weeks after a good rain? High water sucks and I been fighting spring run off on the Madison. Going back home to see fam around June 1
