It was close enough to the line to be noticed by many as potentially troublesome. There was a gentle nudge there you missed.
Clearly the thread actually going on here has no interest in discussing it. There’s an open thread (or threads) already to discuss it in now. Do it over there, respectfully as always, if you want, but not here. It starts down the road of turning every thread into a “save the Brookie” thread. By itself, it’s fine to discuss. When you do it in places that have no desire to talk about it, it’s disrespectful, not cool, and no one likes it unless you’re part of the problem.

(Sicilian-Chilean American, raised by depression era-blue collar folks, spent my childhood in Maryland, young adult life in central/western PA, married into western PA German Catholic family, spent adult life in the upper Midwest)
Some here in the upper midwest call small trout 'Gerbers'; was explained to me it came from an allusion to 'Gerber' baby food. How's that for something a little different?
Maybe I will start calling them 'Gemmies' out here and see if it sticks?

FWIW, the earliest examples must date from sometime prior to December 2011, because the earliest message I can find on the spin off forum, which *does* still exist is 12/6/11.
