So on one of my building sites I have lots of brush and weeds along a fence and I saw this guy a few different times but he would hop away everytime I tried to get his picture.
But today I got him! I guess he is lucky he dosent live near a hungry trout, though north Philly can be tough on anyone .

And A little inspiration for this extra terrestrial fly swap

My house is situated among a couple fields. When we moved in here in 2019 until about 2022 we had many grasshoppers around. My cat would catch them and bring them in the house (alive) daily in the late summer.

After 2022, it's like a switch turned off. Gone. Haven't seen a single hopper here. Would love to know why.

Because of your cats. 😉

Catching grasshoppers was a "thing" when I was kid.

We'd walk down to the local junior high school (yea, that's what we called them back then) athletic fields and in about an hour could catch hundreds.

We also used to catch bees that were all over the abundant clover, both white & purple.

I wonder what goes on there now? I might have to send a local Delco buddy to investigate...

Or Jess. 😉
