Orvis battenkill question

Hey guys, those of you who have a battenkill in blacknickle can you tell me where you found that color?
I dont see it offered but I may be in the market for one to put on my 3wt.

I ordered a II and a III from Sportsman's Warehouse. Only the II was delivered and a III would better suit my needs. I don't think they have any now.

I saw your post but was was thinking the battenkill 1 may be better with 3wt line

I'd do a little digging. I ordered looking for a reel for a 4 weight and I definitely feel the II is more of a 2/3 wt reel.

Do you think the 1 is to small for 3wt?

I can't answer that. I suspect it will hold the lines that Orvis says it will. I just know that, for me, the II is too small to put on an 8'6" or 9' 4 wt and that it would look much more at home on my 7 or 7'6" 3 weights

I am a huge fan of black nickel finished Battenkill reels! They are not the current model. They have been changed slightly and this finish has not been offered since that time. EBAY is your friend and ive found some as new, old stock at a few shops. I just picked this one up a couple weeks ago as new/old stock. Think i have about a dozen of them now.
