Jack "JackM" Manderino

I was more than happy to make the trip. I even stopped on the way out to PGH on Saturday to fish the crik we first met. I was alone, except for Jack, with the gorgeous sunshine glimmering through the trees on the Molly Gordon pool. It was very fitting, I got to say goodbye where we met.
Interesting

The first two PAFFer's I got to know, where met at that pool too
Alby and Acristic

Actually I asked Gino if it was OK....It was an Adams catskill. He asked if I had any ants? I said Jack will have to figure it out. Haha
Was he wearing black socks? He's set if so. Jack was good like that.

I just saw this. So hard to take. I loved Jack. I first met him at the gauge pool on the Yough many, many years ago. He made me laugh then and every other time since. I remember at one Jam, he commented that the person who first divided something by 3 must have been really f'd up. Everyone around lost it. Maybe we all had too much to drink, but Jack always made me laugh. He always had time to talk. And to listen. Too young. Damned.

Condolences to Jacks family.

The Hemlock Acres jam where it poured all night and people were in the big pavilion- one of my first memories of Jack. Maybe standing on a picnic table at 2 am arguing with Rudy. Hah ?

Recall getting up at 4:30 am after going to bed late to fish GD’s on Penns and he met me about an hour later downstream of tunnel road. We caught more fish by 7am then we did the whole rest of the day.

The two other memories that come to mind- fishing the gauge hole on the Yough several times and once going to his Italian club in Monesson.

Jack was a protector of the less fortunate and fought for their rights.

Only one mold made for Jack. Dang.
Kid,

What I recall was on Saturday night the Pavillion was evacuated by Rudy a little before eleven. I think I was with Jack away from the pavillion and when we came back were informed Rudy shut it down. In the morning when Rudy camy by for his unsolicited "coffee talk" Jack confronted him. Rudy rebutted by stepping up onto the bench to talk down to Jack. Jack ascended to bench level and cross enamined. To which Rudy stepped onto the table top, Jack followed. We all just watched the master arguer at work.

I think that was the last Jam at Hemlock. Rudy was a tool.

I can't believe Jack passed away!
He was always active on the site, humorous and funny.
I have a problem to "digest" this sad fact.
Jack rest in peace.

Here is the freeze frame from the "PAFLYFISH Jamboree 2015" video.

This is the jack story that comes to mind when I remember him lately.

62 is too young. My condolences to Jack's family.
My thoughts exactly. Far too young. I wish him good waters, big hatches, willing trout and tight lines for eternity.

I just saw this, so sad. I never got to meet him in person but had some great conversations with him on the site here over the years. I have a few of his flies from some fly swaps here years ago. We're the same age, sobering.

I heard that cigarettes are free and the glass of bourbon is never less than 3/4 full. GG

It's funny (maybe not so) that when I was in my 20s if I heard that a person died in his sixties I would say, "Well he lived a good life." Now that I'm well past those ages I say "He was such a young man." "It's better to burn out than it is to rust." I never met Jack, but tonight I'll pour out some 15 year old single malt in his memory and to all who stalk this site in good will.

Tight lines to all of us.

My first Jam! Showed up on an old beemer, was met at the pavilion by Bruno handing me a Dale's pale, at 10 in the morning. Met so many people that soon became friends. When Jack had his interaction with Rudy, I was an instant fan!!!
My other favorite memory, some years later. Leaving Seven Mountains, decided to hit the paradise for a few hours. ran into Jack, who had just fallen in the water, despite not being allowed to wade there!! He wasn't worried about being wet, he was on his way to the store to replace his soaked cigerettes!

Jack was always active with his mind and his actions. He was huge support for PaFlyFish.

I've been missing for months, finally logged in and find this thread. Very sad to read this. He had to put me back in line more than once and I respect that he did. Hopefully get to enjoy a beverage with you around the fire ring in the future. 🥃 RIP Jack
