Until yesterday, I hadn't trout fished in ages, and truth be told, I've barely touched a fly rod in a while, too. Yesterday, I headed to a stream that I thought got a good amount of rainfall. For this stream, I caught my PB wild brown. The fish weren't really all that willing to eat. They wouldn't eat dries or nymphs, but they would chase and strike at a streamer. I hooked several, but only landed this one brown..it inhaled the bugger. Look how chunky that fish is!
Today, I went to a stream that I knew didn't get much rain in the last couple days. Flows were still good enough. I landed a few brookies. This stream is mostly browns, but I couldn't find them. I saw a large and healthy looking stockie bow hanging out below some wood. It felt good to be in the woods casting flies. I'm hoping for some more good rain soon.
