Hi all,
I have fished with a hip pack for years. Having bought a few, they all came with a plastic side release buckle. A few weeks ago, that plastic buckle got caught in my trunks hatch when closing it and inevitably, the plastic buckle broke. These fishpond buckles are similar to the buckles I have had in wading belts so I am including those in this discussion.
I got this metal side release utility buckle off of amazon (link below), and wish I had done so before my plastic buckle broke. If you have a plastic buckle for your hip pack or wading belt, I recommend something like this. Like I said, I wish I was preemptive in purchasing this before having a busted buckle. Hope this helps at least a couple of you out!
