Fly line spooling/respooling tool

So it appears that I'm the only one that places a spool on a screwdriver and holds it between their toes while filling my reel. Now I feel dumber than before 🤡

Dear krayfish,

I have someone hold the spools of backing and fly line with a #2 pencil in them when I wind line on a reel from empty.

But stripping 250 yards of fly line and backing in that order off a RHW spool and rewinding it LHW is a bit more of a process.

I really think that doo-dad that brookiefan posted about will be the best route. I like to buy and collect older used reels, and they often come with line and backing that is perfectly usable but wound the wrong way for me.

I still do the spool on a screw driver too.
But have the wife hold it......

I do this often using a Rio crank kit.
I just did a 10wt line last night. I wasn't sure if I could fit the whole shot on one spool, so I wound the flyline on one spool, cut off the backing and wound the backing on another spool.
