Anyone else ever have durability problems with Orvis Hydros superfine line? Only used it about 25x and tip is sinking. Also any tips for repairing fly line? I really don’t want to replace it so soon.
Yes for repairing like a pinholeI use Mucilin paste on the end of the fly line and leader to help keep it floating
May be all you need to do
What kind of repair are you talking about?
I’ve repaired small nicks in the line with aqua seal
Yes, ill give it a shot.. see what they say25 trips is not a lot I suggest contacting Orvis.
I contacted Orvis via email. I also sent a photo. They got back to me already and said they zoomed in on the photo and it looks like the coating is coming off. They already checked my account and seen my purchase date. So with that they are sending a new line and it will ship today!! Thank you for bringing it to my attention that I should contact Orvis. These guys are great and really stand by their products!!Yes, ill give it a shot.. see what they say

x2 for using Mucillin, Payette Paste, or similar product. It might not be a permanent fix, but it'll make a huge difference for a while at least.I use Mucilin paste on the end of the fly line and leader to help keep it floating

I broke a Clearwater rod tip and a Helios rod tip over the past few years and I went on line and filled out the warranty info. I paid $60 both times. On both occasions I had the tip delivered to my door in under 72 hours. Now with them replacing my line the and how quick and easy it was, I will try my hardest to spend my money with them over any others.Had a similar experience recently with a basically brand new and expensive line from SA - and I did not have the same positive customer service experience.
