Totally OT but high end nippers & fishing pliers are the biggest inflated scam out there...
I don't use Simms nippers, but I do have a few of the original Abel nippers purchased at Harry Murray's shop in VA for $50. As soon as other companies jumped in with their fancy anodized aluminum nippers at a higher price point, Abel upped their price to match the competition price of $100+.
High end fishing pliers...
Back around the days of $50 Abel nippers, only Van Staal had the chutzpah to ask $300 for their pliers, but they are all titanium. At that time a pair of Abel pliers was $100...
Now all of the top pliers are over $300 while interestingly enough, the Van Staal pliers are still in that range...
