Morrish hoppers or any similar stocky foam hopper with prominent legs. Tan is the only color you really need.
You said you wanted patterns other than Chubby Chernobyl's but that is just lunacy. I wouldn't fish west of the Mississippi without a bunch of tan chubbies in my boxes. However, there are times when the chubby's profile doesn't quite produce like a more realistic hopper. But still, the Chubby Chernobyl is the king of western dry flies.
This past summer I also did quite well with the Fly Fish Food Project Hopper 3.0. However, tying them is more similar to building a model airplane than tying a fly.
Flies tied from natural materials will also produce but they are more trouble than they are worth. A morrish will float forever even after shredded by a bunch of fish. A Dave's hopper is toast after just a few. And trust me, it isn't PA out there, your flies are going to get eaten.
