Never trout fished in the Fall & am looking at doing some fishing next week. I checked the website for a few counties & there are no stockings. Do they stock creeks/rivers in the Fall or only in the Spring? Or have they just not started stocking b/c of low water?

They stock creeks and lakes in the fall, but they don't stock an abundance of waters in the fall. The stockings are limited, and not every county gets a fall trout stocking. Which county are you looking for? Chester County has a fall stocking on the one branch of the Brandywine. Kettle Creek gets a fall stocking up in Potter. Greenwood Lake gets a fall stocking in Huntingdon Co. They are few and far between, and they tend to be in more popular areas and/or heavily utilized fisheries. I would assume (but I didn't check) that one of the Sinnemahoning streams gets stocked, such as the First Fork. I don't know, pick a county and browse the list. If you don't see anything for that county, select an adjacent one until you find a fall stocking. Or....go find some wild fish.

Coolbrze:

This should save you some time...

Go to the PFBC Adult Trout Stocking by County page.

The default county in the "Select County" field will be Adams. Leave that field alone and just check the box in the upper left corner for "Fall Stockings."

THEN click on the down arrow for "Select County" (where Adams appears).

A drop-down list of all counties will appear in the field. ONLY the counties listed in bold receive fall stockings. (BTW - The same trick works for Winter Stockings).

Like has already been stated, the PFBC doesn't stock many waters in the fall and more lakes than streams are stocked.

Good luck!
