Fall Fishing Talk. Lets get out there!

There are pre spawn invasive Brown trout in just about every cold/coolwater stream you can think of - pick one and try it out - you can find large migratory fish in places you never thought they’d be - they’re still feeding and getting territorial - pretty soon they’ll get the real urge to merge that’s when I try to fill a deer tag - then back to it for post spawn - big migrants usually hang around in some of those “non-trout” streams and forage until the real freezing starts - here are a few clues of the types of water where these transient trout dwell short term:
Is the picture of the canal looking stream with concrete walls at Army War College? I was TDY there years ago and remember walking around campus and that looks familiar.

And here I was thinking this was gonna be a fallfish appreciation thread! Anyway.. here’s an absolute unit of a fallfish that ate a dry fly last summer. Was one heck of a ride on my 3wt.

Today the Lehigh River is “rolling.” Crossed it on the bike in Cementon/Northampton. Looking off the bridge the water was tannic and depth visibility was about 2.5 ft.

Think those flows will still be good this coming weekend? I'll be in the central PA area and am hoping to annoy some fish.
Yeah flows will be fine. The cold front might be the problem. I’ll be up that way too - family weekend at PSU. I am also hoping to annoy some fish but free time might be tough to come by.

NO! it’s absolutely not …. There ain’t nae feesh ‘n that crick! It’s NOT near the bowling alley or the veterinarian on post (if it was) and the proper name is “Area 51” …. Nothing to see here - especially Colonel’s wives walking their dog past outside bends of a creek that doesn’t exist - NO it’s not inside the War College fence - no transient spawner Browns in that imaginary stretch just below the Commandant residence (if they was one…) I categorically deny that any such area or activity exist - nor would I be disposed to discuss any information if said area were to in fact exist …

I floated it Monday. Glen to Dunbars in 4 hours.

Was that fast or slow? I couldn’t find anything called Dunbars on a map in order to measure the distance covered.
Fast, Dunbars is the Lehighton homeless ramp. It's behind Dunbars Beverage.

Spent this past weekend fishing around central PA with my son and nephew. Weather and fall colors were absolutely beautiful. Kish fished the best and upper Spring Creek was good too. Penns between Coburn and Ingleby was disappointing. My son landed the trophy (as usual).
