Pack at least a .380 - though a Glock 19 in .40SW would be more appropriate - maybe do some
dry fire draw training while wearing your vest/pack setup to achieve proper muscle memory - be prepared for threat forces using your 6 as an avenue of approach - bounding overwatch tactics are effective too if you have a couple buddies along - leave the Nikon at home and trust your phone camera

Reminded me of Herb, back in the Cold Spring Anglers days 😬

The worst was Jim Deren at the Angler's Roost in Manhattan. If anyone had the pleasure, he was a hoot!!

Herb was ALMOST as bad as was Barry Staats at the Sporting Gentleman in Media...

The common denominator with all three was my age and their determination of whether I was going to waste their time and spend more than $30.

I never had the opportunity to outgrow that "broke a$$ kid" impression with Jim Deren, but Barry mellowed with age and after I bought a Winston rod and 3/4 of Cold Spring Anglers supply of certain fly tying materials, even Herb would say hello & sort of smile when I walked in the shop. 😉

The new crop of kid clerks at other shops blow me off like the old curmudgeons did when I was broke which is really stupid on their part because I ain't so broke these days. As a result, I don't go to fly shops any longer...

I much prefer getting ignored by AI bots and ordering exactly what I want in peace on the Internet.
