East vs West Trout Fishing

Locally, the only fly shop that isn't overly yuppified is TCO. Good guys working there too.
Uh, that's probably the shop they are referring to as "yuppified."

However, I'm with you. I like TCO. I prefer a business that actually stocks what I want/need over one with "character."

Theres a fly shop back home on the farmington river in ct where i grew up it got yuppified too.. was just there last weekend and wasnt like it used to be. Felt out of place fishing alongside other anglers wearin hip waders and a vest. But they kept looking over at me while i released yet another trout.. while tgey were beating the water to a froth with there 1000 dollar rods n expensive reels. I loved it lol lol
I was driving back from Hartford and stopped at The Angler's Den on the NY/CT

Very chill shop and nice guys. They even opened up some tying to materials to let me try on a vise prior to buying.

I have only been to two of their shops. Bryn Mawr is definitely yuppied (not surprising) and I have had mixed interactions with staff. Sinking Spring is pretty chill and their new crew they have trained up the past few years has been doing well. I will be moving to central PA next year so i will be frequenting Boiling Springs.

East Coast representin’ brah.

Edit: I also run a vanity NJ tag up front even though my vehicle is registered in PA.
