Well, it looks like the rain we were supposed to get is fizzling. Last 3 systems that were supposed to give us 1+ fizzled as well. I know a few places did get a bit out of some storms. Blazing hot next week. Lawns are parched here in Lancaster County. Has anyone been on the river at all? I may take a run over next week.

A fishing club I belong to held a tournament on Saturday. The top 5 fish were from 20 1/2 inches to 18 1/2 inches. I didn't fish in it, but it went pretty well despite the wind. A guide friend of mine is having success with fly fishing clients on the Juniata and Susquehanna.

Like your area, Harrisburg has pretty much been passed over by recent rain. We got 1/4 inch twice in the last few rounds when over 1 inch was forecast. It's supposed to get hot next week with temps in the 90's and even the river could use a dose of water.

I'm going to get out in my float tube on a local lake or two next week, but it will probably be an early morning affair.

In south-central, my lawn (and most others near me) are starting to brown up, weather guy was calling for a storm tonight. Nothing…1/2” predicted on Saturday. We’ll see…

Dear Rodfather and wildtrout2,

We are short 2 1/2 inches of rain that was forecast over the last two weekends. With no real rain in sight and temperatures forecast into the 100's the tail of end of next week it looks like it's going to Deja Vu all over again, apologies to George Carlin for that. 😉

Going to get really bad. Doesn't bode well for 2 fall Penns trips. On my morning run people were out mowing their burnt out yards. Pesticide signs up as well.

Despite being forecast for over 1 1/2 inches on each of the last 2 weekends, Harrisburg received a total of .73 inches of rain in June. That's almost 4 inches less than normal and puts us down almost 6 1/2 inches for the year. At least that followed a much wetter than normal early Spring. It's been parched since early May. Even the warm-water creeks around here are desperately low.

Same here in Lsncaster county. I do water quality testing for the Lancaster Conservation District and the flows in late June were very low. Badly need 2 or more inches of rain.
