Bootfoot waders

Aaaaah, I’m in the same boat. It’s easier, and quicker, for me to get in and out of bootfoots. Don’t poo poo the bootfoots, Frankly I never found cramming an ill fitting neoprene socked foot into an oversized boot was all that more comfortable over a bootfoot. Can’t help you with your choice of simms since I go the cheap wader route. Just don’t think you’re taking a step backwards going back to bootfoots.

The argument - for me- is that my boots wear out before the waders and I can use my boots with wading socks for wet wading.

From my perspective I'd have to ask, are you getting exceptional life out of waders or poor life out of boots?
My ratio is approximately 2:1, in that my boots last twice as long as my waders. I have been through a bunch of korkers studded soles, though. Regardless, the waders and boots don't wear out at the same rate so your argument stands. I'm just surprised boots are more short lived than waders for you.

around 2 years or so for boots (although my current pair is at 2 years and I probably can last another 8 mos). I get about 6-8 years out of the waders with one bootie replacement.

I have done well with the Simms tributary stockingfoot waders. They are under $300 and last me several years fishing in them 20 - 30 full days or more per year. Not good for winter fishing but good for spring / summer / fall.

These days my knees plus the fact I fish alone means I rarely enter the water anymore. Getting old and refuse to die stupidly.
