Besides all of the nostalgia in his conversations about Vince, Charlie, Ed Koch, & Ed Shenk, I loved hearing about the old Yellow Breeches Shop (I still call it that) where I spent a lot of time and some money when Billy was the manager.
Two other things I found very interesting was his concern for the welfare of the chickens and animals in general and his comment that his feathers had thicker and stiffer barbs because the birds were raised outdoors.
If I understood Bill correctly, he gave some of his flock to Joe Fox at Dette's. If so, I have to think those chickens are in good hands because I've had Joe pick out necks for me in the past and he knows hackle.
