A friend of mine and I fished the Yough tail races from about 6am til 1pm. 5 bows were had between the two of us. Fish were frequently rising above the bridge but would not be fooled by anything I flung their way. Fished the Maryland section of the Yough from the power plant down. Water was extremely low and trout seemed to be almost completely absent. Lots of fall fish and rock bass. It was only our second time fishing the maryland portion of the Yough and it was disappointing to say the least. I have heard nothing but great things about this part of the river so expectations were pretty high. Is it usually like this during this time of year?

A couple of us fished the Yough in MD on July 4th (MD fish for free day). We fished the C & R section below the Deep Creek coldwater release. Our experience was about the same as yours, warm water and no trout.

Did any of you guys fish at the confluence of Deep Creek and the Yough? That's where the water is released. I've had very slow days there before, but when the water is released.....Holy $%^T! Fish come out from somewhere....

Flynoob,
When was the date you fished? I'll add it to the title Subject line.
Thanks,
Dave W
