Yellow Breeches, Cumberland Co., 6/18/2011

I read a lot of the threads on the Tully and I didnt see any BS reports about that stream. It warms quickly in summer, the trout are mutant stockies, it gets pretty crowded, it is loaded with carp, bluegills, chubs and 3-4 inch smallmouth. That is the absolute truth about the Tully. Yes, the Tully can be a nice place to fish and there are some decent caddis hatches that will bring the fish up but there are much better places to fish. Whatever "BS" reports you might have read were to inform anglers seeking better water that the Tully might not be what they were looking for. After all it does get much better than the Tully in our state. I did not write or participate in any reports on the Tully that your referring too but I do remember reading them and I accepted them as the absolute truth.

You guys need to pick up some zebra brassies, It kills' em down at the run!

Iceyguides,

Thank you for your stream report. I read it when you you first posted it last month. I didn't realize the ensuing dialog.

I believe the success and enjoyment of fly fishing comes from people who are willing to help others learn and share about the sport. I got started fly fishing by those who did just that with me and believe in paying it forward.

Please keep your stream reports coming. As a matter of fact stream reports are very much encouraged on the site. If folks want to bother with spot burner discussions keep it out of this Stream Report Forum.

Paul ,I do not think so, I was only there Monday this week. And when i am there my number one spot is right where boiling springs goes into the run, I have had a hook-into with a big 4+ pound brown there 3 or 4 times, Has anyone else seen this brown? On Monday he just snapped me off in a few seconds, But two of the times i had him on for 30 or 40 minutes until he ran me downstream, My dad just happen to be visiting one time and he went to net it and of course he missed the fish 😳 . But he said it was very large(I knew that)but he said around 5 pounds at the least!

Roosters, let me know if you get my email. I sent a couple of pics of that brownie. He's a nice one.........Biggie

I forgot to add, Monday i was fighting a smaller brook at the same spot and the brown attacked the brookie! He hung on for about 5 seconds. Luckily the brookie was fine. Just goes to show that the big browns will eat good sized fish ( 8 or 9 inches) . Pretty cool experience
