Marabou jigs for winter Smallies. (spinning) I always use black, but with the number of baitfish I've seen, it seems like white should work. (1/8 and 1/32) The hook is left bare so that I can add a 3/8 inch segment of plastic worm on the hook. It's unseen but adds bulk.
A straight marabou jig is unbelievable in the water. Nothing looks more alive.

I also tied a few of these awhile back. I think I used tungsten beads, but because of their large size they are like boat anchors. Brass beads might be sufficient in many cases.

Messing around with my newly acquired pheasant skins from @mt_flyfisher. They are awesome skins - thanks, John!

I used two feathers off of the ****bird skin to spin up this proven Jack Gartside pattern - the Sparrow Nymph. This is a great pattern - natural materials, contrast, lots of movement. If I drift this bug past any fish - there is a real good chance that it will get eaten!
