That’s a very nice classic there. Perfect proportions. When I tie that fly mine always seem to come out too skinny. Lead wraps under?? Do you build up the taper with thread??

Thank you. Every now and then it’s fun to crank out a few of the classic ones.A PT nymph on a size 14 3906B is a classic if ever there was one. Nice job!
No weight on that one. I did build up the taper with thread wraps. However, sometimes I do place lead wire wraps underneath which also helps to build a taper. I used Semperfli Nanosilk 12/0 in brown to tie that PT. I really love tying with that thread. That’s a very nice classic there. Perfect proportions. Are you actually going to tie them with all wire?Very nice. I'm actually going to go old school with some of my PT nymphs this year and tie up some Frank Sawyer pheasant tails.

Nice Job! Looks great. I've been tying all morning - 4 dozen done so far and I'm about to start working on a few stoneflies and thin mint buggers.
I can’t tie four dozen flies in a month let alone a morning. Impressive feat.Nice Job! Looks great. I've been tying all morning - 4 dozen done so far and I'm about to start working on a few stoneflies and thin mint buggers.

I LOVE the work with the flank feathers here! Do the ones on the very bottom and bottom left have some underwing material?
