You need to get into BFS (Bait Finesse Fishing), which is using specialized casting reels and short casting rods for trout with lures as light as a Trout Magnet in play.

There isn't much that I can't cast with my BFS outfits...
 
Spinfishing, baitfishing, lure fishing are all effective. And there are probably websites about those types of fishing.

I listen to all the Troutbitten podcasts, they are well done, IMO. Solid info about FFing in PA with lots of fun discussion from the TB guys when they join Dom.

As far as ads, there are two 30 second ads at the beginning of the podcast and three breaks for a total of eight 30 second ads for an hour+ of content. Listening to the podcacst is free, therefore four minutes of ads for an hour + of listening is very reasonable, IMO. Plus the just about all the ads are FFing related and/or beer related so I like listening to them. Plus plus, a lot of the FFing ads offer a percentage off (10-15-20%) for online orders purchasing items using a code given on the podcast.

As far as using actual crappie jig hooks for tying "flies" and/or using a jig hook and bead.......who the (whatever) cares?!? Now propellers on flies lures are a whole different thing G.....shame.

Lastly, don't keep complaining! If you don't like something, don't listen or view or click on it.

I've never seen any of these because I have no interest in listening to people ramble, as I assume no one would care to hear me ruminate on utter bull for 45 minutes at a time.

I'm just telling you why Youtube videos purpose driven to be extended with extra crap in 'em. It's about the creator making money, not an altruistic need to share knowledge or a folksy persona.

As I stated in my above post, since I'm not paying anything to listen to the podcast, four minutes of ads for an hour of listening is more than fair. Plus I enjoy all the info as well as the entertaining (for me) banter in between.

....and I noticed you just blew through your response while making no mention of your propellers.

Has anyone ever seen anyone fly fishing while wearing a tweed jacket? I've been fly fishing since 1970 and don't recall ever seeing that.

Well said. There seems to be a small group here who just go out of their way to blindly attack anything Troutbitten related. I can’t imagine spending any time at all with such negativity let alone the amount of effort that seems to go into it. To each his own I guess - but it’s weird.

How about tweed pants or a hat. Ever seen anybody wearing them. I’m not sure how to take this response. Joke, sarcasm, panties in a bunch, curiosity??? Tweed has long been associated with fly fishing, particularly for salmon and trout among Scottish outdoorsman and label loving well heeled haughty Englishmen.
 
How about a wicker creel filled with fern fronds and a few gemmies? It's been many years, but I remember. As youngin, those older gents in dab clothing, a jonsey hat, flyrod in hand and a creel on their hip, were cool cats in my eyes. Every now and again one of those fellows would let me peek inside his creel to see the bounty. The shimmering of a fish laying on a bed of deep green fern fronds surrounded by worn brown wicker is still vivid in my mind.
