jason s and i met up yesterday at the stackhouse school , from there we went upstream into the wading section, surprisingly there werent too many fishermen out . jason landing the first one on a BH walts worm and me getting my first taste of spring creek wild browns also on walts worm, we fished upstream to the pipeline crossing. jason landing about 5 i think ,and me getting 3 mostly on the above mentioned walts worm. jason swithed to an olive wooly bugger all the while there were very few micro caddis, i belive they were tan and about a size 18 . no olives and a few craneflies in the air. we moved down stream about 3:00 went down below the hachery, to where spring creek rd crosses the creek. we fished down stream from the bridge jason quickly getting 3 off the bat on the olive woolybugger and i had one one a pt nymph . made it back upstream to find a pool of risers and #18 bwo's comming off nicely, and i picked a few more up there . and even had the pleasure of seeing an osprey catching a nice wild brown and flying of with it . we fished until 5:30 then the rain moved in and broke everyhitng up.

Nice report - thanks for the update.

From seeing the pic below your name Im pretty sure we talked at the Paradise around 11am I was a younger guy with a black chevy truck.

i remember how did you guys do?

A few in the Paradise then we headed down spring creek road got some down there. Then I started asking around found out how to get to benner springs and once we got there we killed um.

Nice report Nello. Looks like you had a pleasant introduction to Spring!

Good to see you getting out to some of our better waters.
Spring creek is also the only place I have ever seen an osprey grab a trout and fly off with it. Really cool but startled the heck out of me.

next time im going to have to try and find benner springs ive heard alot about that section

flip,
If you are on 220, it's the Shilo Rd. exit.

If you are on 64, turn up Shilo Rd. by the mall (Sears side)

I go the way MKern goes. I think he's missing the last three steps, though.

Pull into lot, swear and complain that there are 35 cars.

Get out and feed the fish in the hatchery discharge.

Get in the car and head downstream.

:-D

When I pulled in Saturday there were only 3 cars. The blue white game had everyone on the other side of town and away from the stream which was very nice!
