Don't forget the hippies

Who the he'll gave permission to put that junk in the creek? That's a disgrace. Probably the kayak outfitters did it. Same out with chainsaws cutting away obstructions in Bald eagle....Once again the river messing things up for the streams to fill their own pockets.

Someone should go down with a sawzall and cut that junk up and haul it the he'll out of there. It has no place on a sacred trout creek like Spring creek

As far as owners are concerned... Does anyone know who actually does own that land that the kayak course is built on? I would love to write some letters about that. I don't fish spring creek often, but when I rounded the corner and seen that monstracity overhanging the creek I was shocked. Something that ugly and in disrepair really doesn't have a place on such a stream as spring creek. I understand everyone shares the creek, but to actually build structure on it is out there IMO. At minimum they should atleast clean up the broken pieces, and possible paint or something, it looks terrible.

Yup, That's it, it looks like crap.
Lots of the pieces are broken, some stuff just laying on the ground ect..

I sent an email about it here: contact@bellefontechamber.org

If you don't like it, email them too.
I'm sure its just pissing in the wind, but its worth an e-mail.

They're not green weenies, they are green inch worms with lead tied underneath them  i never always lose flies on those stupid wires, there is some great water and nice fish under them.

I will do the same, tell them when they cut the wires down I want my flies back, just the green ones though.

What changes did you recommend?

Fixing the broken sections, and replacing/repainting the obstacles that are in need.

Also recommended tearing the whole thing down, but I don't think they will go for that.

Tear it down. It is actually a danger at this point. Typical hipster crap. Build it without thinking it through and then when you are bored leave the mess for someone else. If someone floats it and gets tangled up in that junk there could be a real problem. I bet it is that kayak renting place that did it.

I walked down to the kayak course near dusk, just to see what all the noise is about.

The tubes and wires etc. all look in spiffy condition. Maybe they read the rants on here, and fixed things up?

It looks good for kayaking. Of course that makes it difficult for fishing.

But if you look at the websites linked above, you can see the situation; the kayak course isn't going anywhere.

Though it may seem hard to believe, not even rants on paflyfish will make it go away.

Does anyone remember when it was built? I think it's been there 25-30 years or so, but I'm not sure.
