So what's better than fishing on a Tuesday?

Since I have fishing agoraphobia, I have been cashing in my PTO on days when I think pressure will be light. Tuesdays were always my favorite days when my past career afforded more weekday free time. The last two Tuesdays did not disappoint. Last week I got to fish with not one but two members of the forum who are retired and probably only fish on Tuesdays 😉 I landed a pig brown on a jig streamer early and ended with a fun dry fly session.

And yesterday, I had about 6 solo hours of steady nymphing action in the bouncy water. No real size but plenty of solid trouts. The highlight was likely the trifecta (or more if you count two varieties of chub life). Rain and cooler temps would help, but life is pretty good, yo!

Ugh. It's all over for me. Summer is my busy time. Starting Monday: no remote days and can't use any vacation days until August. I'm cooked!

The last few Augusts have had some fall like periods, so keep your chin up. I should have mentioned that I work remote on Mondays and Wednesdays, so those long Tuesday would not be as much fun. Nice to sleep until 8:55 AM after a long day on the water....

You need to get out if thats what you like too do make time...were never promised tommorow if you physically can go..ive seen too many aquaintainces retire after years of hard work get sedentary then have no desire to take better care of themselves then the fire peters out and damage done...keep active. Dont rust!!! Now go get em!!

I haven’t fished on a weekend in over 40 years. It started when I worked weekends and had Tuesday and Wednesday off. Loved it and now decades later I hate doing anything on the weekend including going out to dinner, golfing and flying. I used almost all my time off one day at a day as I cherry picked the best day to go fishing. Now that I’m fully retired I fish so often that I have to take a few days off from fishing every week. I actually injured my wrist from catching to many stripers one week. Some days I go for various types of bass, some days I’ll go and let the carp laugh at me and when I only have a few hours to kill I’ll go catch some pannies. I’ll even go for trout if the stripers aren’t cooperating. Currently I’m on PTO from fishing as I wait for the Flounder to kick it into high gear. Enjoy your time off and save every penny you can for retirement PTO.

Go when you can. But yes, Tuesdays are maybe my favorite day to fish. Definitely less folks on the stream. But I’m retired so every day is available. After clearance with the boss, of course!

Well, I fished a Friday today, and it was no Tuesday, I tell ya! Maybe a cold front and wind blowing 20 mph had something to do with it.... High sun, no water, no bugs, a different trifecta.

Oh, I found Juneteenth to be an energizing and enjoyable holiday! These were all welfare fish, but the good homie hit me up to fish this stocked river and offered to both drive and fill the cooler with beer. Who am I to complain?

Had some good chunkers to hand, including a big bow that was pushing 20" but fought so hard that I didn't want to mess with a photo. It f.cking ruled.

Glad it was better for you than me! I caught a dozen wild browns on a big body of water that requires work even when it isn't windy, and none of the fish was over 8 inches long, most were 7!
