I see where you're going Jay, but what I'm asking is: If they can survive in the warm stretches, and there are clearly sea-going fish using the area, how cost prohibitive would it be to switch the current brood stock for rainbows to say the Chamber's creek strain or even better yet Skamania strain? They would still be stocking rainbows but let's imagine a few have the urge to run to sea........ I always just assumed that the reason there haven't been any anadromous fish introduced into the system was because they would die in the warm water in the lower stretches of the river. I guess the big issue would be it's impact on marine life, since the river already has them in it and the are probably not going away. Sorry to hijack a report, but Jay started it! 😛
